Peggy Ochs is an R.N. She has also practiced Acupuncture and Shiatsu for over 25 years. She is excited to offer Shiatsu body work and join the practitioners here at Open Doors.

The word acupressure literally means finger pressure. Shiatsu is based on traditional Japanese acupressure methods. It focuses on the 'meridians or channels, and the same points used in acupuncture. Its purpose is to replenish, balance and harmonize the vital energy of the body. Often when there is an imbalance, different physical and emotional symptoms can develop.  This balancing effect helps the body to heal itself.  Shiatsu can help alleviate these and create a sense of well being

Clients are fully clothed while receiving shiatsu. It is performed on a table.  A typical treatment last for one hour. Loose clothing should be worn so an effective treatment can be given.
